Anti Virus for Mac - this scan has never been completed

I have downloaded the Sophos anti virus software for the mac. My operating system is OSX 10.4.11. I followed the download instructions and then scanned "local drives" as instructed however the scan is never completed and the message keeps coming up "This scan has never been completed"!

I have read the threads on this online forum to try and resolve the problem but you need to be a computer expert to understand the language being used, and I haven't found this to be helpful. Can anyone explain to me in plain English what the problem might be and how it can be resolved?

thank you

  • Andrew,

I can follow your instructions until I get to "Navigate to the root of your computer (your main hard drive name), then press command-shift-. (that's a period).  Select ".DocumentRevisions-V100" and click Open."

I navigate to my boot drive but when I press "command-shift-." nothing happens but a rejecting alert sound.  Perhaps you can explain a little more about navigating to "/DocumentRevisions-V100/".

    Thanks,

    Richard
