Modifying proxy settings

I regularly use my Mac in an environment that requires me to manually authenticate against a proxy server. The default proxy configuration therefore makes it impossible to update while I'm in this environment. I would like to change these settings, but the proxy configuration selector is grayed out on the preferences page. Is there some other way to modify these settings?

  • The other version is the enterprise version (we don't sell a personal version of our products).

Do you know what kind of proxy you're trying to use?

Also, if you attempt to connect to https://es-web-4.sophos.com.edgesuite.net/ in your web browser, do you get:

    Invalid URL

The requested URL "/", is invalid.

Reference #9.17690317.1327086962.139bd4da (reference number likely different)

    ?

--the certificate should come up as invalid... the product validates the certificate however, and so can you.
