Modifying proxy settings

I regularly use my Mac in an environment that requires me to manually authenticate against a proxy server. The default proxy configuration therefore makes it impossible to update while I'm in this environment. I would like to change these settings, but the proxy configuration selector is grayed out on the preferences page. Is there some other way to modify these settings?

  • OK. I have tested the network setting in Mac OS 10.7 control pane. I have tested 3 configurations - proxy for HTTP only, for HTTPS only, proxy for HTTPS and also for HTTP (together ON). In all these cases, Sophos could not be updated.

You mentioned that in Sophos home edition there is no way to change the proxy IN the Sophos preferences. Is there any other Sophos version available for Mac ? I found only the free version (home edition). Thanks.
