Modifying proxy settings

I regularly use my Mac in an environment that requires me to manually authenticate against a proxy server. The default proxy configuration therefore makes it impossible to update while I'm in this environment. I would like to change these settings, but the proxy configuration selector is grayed out on the preferences page. Is there some other way to modify these settings?

  • SAV HE takes the proxy settings as set by the OS, and always updates from the primary location with a generated username/password.  In order to modify these settings, you need to be using the Enterprise product.

So, to manually authenticate, just go to <apple>->System Preferences->Network->Advanced...->Proxies and select your manual proxy settings.
