Sophos versions 8.0-9.1 causes Mac to restart

Hi a few days ago my iMac started crashing sometime during the night as I would log on in the morning to find it had restarted. I kept getting the message below. Ive since i tried uninstalling Sophos and reinstalling but it was still restarting/crashing. OS X Mavericks: Sophos Anti-Virus on-access scanner versions 8.0 - 9.1 may cause unexpected restarts Sophos Anti-Virus on-access scanner versions 8.0 - 9.1 may cause OS X Mavericks to unexpectedly restart (kernel panic). The on-access scanner feature of Sophos Anti-Virus versions 8.0 - 9.1 may cause OS X to stop responding and unexpectedly restart. If this happens, you are presented with an option to move related components of this application to the Trash. Doing this disables the on-access scanner software to prevent this issue from happening again.
