Problems Uninstalling

Dear Sir or Madam

I am currently using a Mac and recently attempted to uninstall Sophos Version 8.0.16. I have uninstalled the software, however I now keep getting error messages saying something along the lines of "Sophos is not running" -and Sophos still appears in my task bar, even though it's no longer in my application folder. How do I get rid of it entirely?

I have used the uninstall tool and it was successful. Whe I tried to install another anti virus app, it said I had uninstall sophos.
