HELP!

I just installed the sophos software onto my MAC (I was told that my MAC had "infections") and I'm not sure what I need to do now.  I got the message that the installation was "successful" and I'm not sure what needs to be done now...hoping someone can help me that is good w/ the Mac.  I love my MAC but am not "techy" at all w/ it...More familar w/ Dell.  Hope someone can help me w/ the next steps...**bleep** those hackers!

  • First off, who/what told you your mac had "infections"?

Secondly, all you have to do is select "Scan Local Drives" from the black S item on the right side of your menu bar (next to the volume and date/time items).  Then you let it run for a couple of hours while it deep-scans your computer.

Sophos Anti-Virus is a multi-part product though; once you've done your initial scan, you can trust the on-access scanner to protect you from new threats, as it monitors files as they are created and modified.
