Malware: ...facebook...php?

Hi, iMac with Sophos AntiVirus for Mac Home Edition here. Two nights ago, while browsing www.bikeradar.com, a box popped up saying '...facebook....php' was trying to open something. It was if I was trying to upload a file. I clicked cancel, closed Firefox and Mail, and performed a scan. Sophos found no threats, but I want to understand what happened and why. Is this something I should worry about? Or, just an add on the site with bad code? Thanks!

  • I'm interested in this topic as a new iMac user (former PC owner) and was wondering if Mac's need anti-virus as much as PC's?  If anti-virus is needed for Macs, does the free version of Sophos AntiVirus for Mac Home Edition have enough protection, or is there a paid version with more bells and whistles?
