Troj/Ransom-ACP

the article on Ransomware suggests the files are beyond hope (please read also the referenced papers and articles). Early malware of this type either used weak encryption or or a key generation which made it possible to recover the key. Meanwhile it has been significantly "improved" and thus decryption is - as the article says - not technically possible.

Ha!  ...That article by Paul (I had already read it) reminds me of the atomic bomb drills in grade school so many decades ago.

When we "saw a mushroom cloud" out the window, or the atomic bomb siren went off, we were to file out of class in an orderly fashion, and line up along the wall in the hall, and sit on the floor. (seems like it was about in 1960)

The next step was to bend over, close your eyes, and put your head between your knees/ legs. (presumably to kiss your backsides goodbye)

If I get Cryptolocker I'll replace that step with "Kiss your files goodbye".
