Weird thing happened..was it a virus attempt? Had sophos free version

Got on a song on youtube and tried to back out...got msg Was I sure..ok to conttinue and cancel to stay on page...my computer page popped up and said I had infections all over in each folder...I hit cntrl + alt+ delete to get out of it as I knew I was not infected....but anyone know what happened..running scans but not finding anything. I noticed the Sophos free has protection disabled on the free version..I guess this is so it can run with MSE which i run with XP 64 bit pro.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hello tapko,
while there is a trial version of SAV for Windows there is no free version - so what is this Sophos free you are referring to? Do you mean the free security scan or a trial version?
Apart from that - what you describe reeks of FakeAV and it seems it wasn't able to settle in.
