Message "error=0x02" after POA problem

After I installed SGNClient.msi (My SGN upgraded from version 5.35 to version 5.5),

When i logged in after POA, show the message below:
     "SafeGuard is loading OS now!"
     "error=0x02"

After logged in to the windows (OS:win 7, PC:Lenovo ThinkVantage ), All function worked  properly.

But, What is meaning of "error=0x02"?

Can somebody help me please?

  • Hi guys,

    let me add my two cents here please:

    Actually 0x02 is indeed a message related to the hard drive setup of the machine. At this point one has to differentiate between some Panasonic models and other hardware.

    In general the issue can normally be circumvented by using Shift F6 hot key at POA level. Further information about hot keys can be found in KBA 107781 > http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/107781.html

    With regards to Panasonic there are certain models that fail to boot as soon as the hard drive is encrypted. The reason for this is that the Panasonic BIOS checks the MBR of a hard drive which is (obviously) not readable any more to the BIOS as soon as the drive is encrypted. As a result of this the boot will then fail showing 0x02. Detailed information about the machines that are affected can be found in KBA 107785 - http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/107785.html

    Generally 0x02 should not have any negative impact on the function of a machine.

    Hope this is the info that you are looking for

    Regards
