safeguard 5.50.1.17 and Lenovo Rescue and Recovery and Safe Mode

We are using Lenovo T510's and we have noticed that we are no longer able to boot into Rescue and Recovery(using the F11 key), plus we are unable to boot into safe mode(F8), the boot stops at classpnp.sys, after we install Sophos Safeguard Easy. We narrowed down our problem to safeguard easy, by loading a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit, and slowly, going thru the updates and trying to enter Recuce and Recovery and Safe Mode, everything worked until we finished encryption. I have not opened a support case yet mainly because we have always found good information on here so we thought we would try this first. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi ia-hawk-fan07,
thank you ver y much for bringing this one up.
Please be so kind and try to use the POA hot keys (http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/107781.html) to check if this is having a positive impact. Should this not bring up any solution please raise a new ticket.

When doing so please provide a copy of MSINFO32 saved as NFO from that machine.

Hello,
and thanks for responding. The link you provided does not goto an article. Could you provide that again. I can to this that evey laptop I encrypt loses the ability to enter rescue and recovery.

Daniel,
I tried all of those options except for the shift F5 and shift F7 . We are using a fingerprint reader to log in and if you toggle those they will shut off the reader. I guess I will have to open a support ticket since this is getting pretty widespread, unless you have any other options?

Hi there,
please be so kind and try Shift F7 as well as this will only toggle USB 2.0 behavior but will not disable USB in general.
Should this also fail you have indeed to create a ticket for this.
