XP frozen on 99% of encryption

 Hello Everyone,

I made a new installation of XP SP3 on a  new WD 2000GB WD20EARS (in Alignment formatted) + 1TB all looks fine.

WD20EARS

C: = 60GB

D:= 1.7TB

E:= 1TB

After installation SGE 5.5 first encryption starts running on partition D: , about 80 hours later encryption status is 99% on partition D:  and PC is frozen. Partition C: and E: is unencrypted

After reboot (power off) PC encryption status is 99% and PC frozen again

If I reboot in safety mode and use the windows explorer PC frozen again, only if I use the IE I have access to the HD and I can save my files.

OK format and new installation :smileyvery-happy:

After installation SGE 4.5.3 first encryption starts running on partition C:  later partition D.

I think SGE shows the HD’’’’s capacity wrong ... something with 7625422MB (3TB about 3000000MB)

About 80 hours later encryption status is 99% on D:  and PC is frozen, same as before. Partition E: is unencrypted.

After reboot (power off) PC encryption status is 99% and PC frozen again

I get access to my HD’’’’s only in over IE in safety mode to save my install files.

I used SGE 4.5.3 on the same hardware with 2x 1TB HD’’’’s before without any problems.

Any ideas what’’’’s wrong?  I don’’’’t want try the right settings and  install and format my PC for the next few weeks ... it’’’’s boring. :smileymad:

Maybe it’’’’s better to install XP on the 1 TB HD and use the 2 TB for data only?

Thanks for your help

  • Hi Nordiii,

    I assume that you have installed SafeGuard Easy?

    The root cause for my assumption is the following fact:

    - When installing SafeGuard Easy or SafeGuard Enterprise the Pre Boot Authentication and the relevant Information (so called Kernel) for that are stored on the hard drive. In order to protect these files we mark them as bad sectors. So in case that SafeGuard Easy is installed that will add approximately. 380 KB of bad sectors to the drive and SafeGuard Enterprise will add approximately 96 MB bad sectors (Reason for this is the different technology that is used in the products).

    Unfortunately you will have to raise the support call yourself.

    Regards
