Encryption error - Engine: Volume C:\ bad, NT-Status = 0xc0000010

Hi.  I was looking through the Safeguard Enterprise Event Viewer.  One of my user's machines logs this error every morning,  "Encryption error - Engine: Volume C:\ bad, NT-Status = 0xc0000010".

The Safeguard Event ID is 3604, Application: SGBaseEnc, User domain: NT AUTHORITY

Other than this error, the machine operates normally.  This has been going on for months.  Do I have anything to worry about?

Thanks

  • Hi jb1111,

with regards to the message I'd say that encryption has never kicked in on that machine.

Please use sgnstate.exe (the tool is part of every installation by default) to check if the assumption is correct. If so please raise a support call to check further steps.

    Regards
    Dan
