XG 125 WAN Full-Duplex not working

Hi,

The preferred negotiation mode is Auto. Is the ISP line deployed through an intermediate modem/router to the UTM? In that case, if the modem is not capable of negotiating on the configure duplex, the negotiation attempts can fail and result in disconnection.

You can also check on what duplex is the modem configured.

My ISP (Cogent Communications) requires us to hard code the interface to 100 Full-Duplex and disable auto-negotiation.  The circuit hand-off is Fast Ethernet, which is connected to my Sophos XG 125 running in Gateway Mode.  There's nothing in between my XG 125 and Cogent's circuit.

In that case, can you deploy an intermediate unmanageable switch in between XG and the ISP line and set the negotiation speed as required.

I'm not sure how inserting an unmanaged switch would help though.  To set the speed on the switch, it would need to be managed, right?  Do the XG line of appliances not support changing the port speeds to 100 Full?

XG supports changing the port speed negotiation, deploying an intermediate switch will manage the speed negotiation at 100 Full between ISP and XG appliance. You don't have to manage the port speed on unmanageable switch they are by default set to 100 full. The deployment is simple you just need to plug and play.
