Internet Radio

Is there an easy way to just block Internet Radio Sites? Blocking the 'Streaming Media' category is too broad.

Also, I don't know if it is possible but is there a way to block Facebook games, without blocking the Facebook site completely?

  • Hi Charthumser,

Unfortunately, there is no seperate category for Internet radio.   If you have a set of Internet radio sites you would like to block, I would suggest creating a tag for them under the Local Site List, and then creating an additional policy to block the tagged sites.  You can find more information on that here:  http://ca-repo1.sophos.com/docs/wsa/swa_docs/ws1000/tasks/ConfigGroupPolLocalSiteList.html

Facebook games are considered apps by Facebook and we can not determine the difference between games and other apps on the site, and therefore they can not be easily blocked.   Again, you can create a tag to block certain app URLs.  Please note that you would need to using the HTTPS scanning feature on the appliance as Facebook using an SSL connection once a user is logged in and the alliance can not see the URLs if this feature is not enabled.
