PureMessage with TMG 2010

Hi all,

We current have PureMessage 3.1 (for Exchange 2003 SP2) behind MS TMG 2010 (as an Edge Firewall) and are experiencing a few issues for which we have an Open support case with Sophos.  I am looking at the possibility that the TMG server might be part of the problem and wonder if anyone else has a similar set up and what rules they have in place for PureMessage?

    Hi Tony,

    From a Sophos Support standpoint, we haven't had any logged cases specific to TMG. Anytime we have seen an issue tied to a firewall, it's usually been tied to spam definition updates, whereby certain exceptions to the firewall need to be permitted for any Exchange server to properly get new definitions -- this is usually by host and filetype.

    If anyone has seen issues, I'll let them follow-up in this post. Otherwise, if you are continuing to see issues, do let Support know what exactly you're encountering and one of our engineers can investigate to see if there's a possible correlation.
