Sophos recognizes the importance of user contributions in the Community. The Member Recognition & Leaderboard section is designed to recognize and thank these individuals for their invaluable contributions that are key to the success of the Sophos Community.
How do Leaderboards work?
You can gain points by engaging and contributing to the Sophos Community. The more points you earn, the higher you rank on the leaderboard. As you rank up, you earn badges on your profile and rewards for your contributions.
Listed below are the several ways you can gain points in the Sophos Community:
Earn points by completing your Sophos Community Profile.
- Sign up for an account - 5 points
- Add a profile photo – 5 points
- Add a bio – 5 points
- Add location – 5 points
- Add a cover photo – 5 points
Get to know the Community and earn points by subscribing and engaging in different topics.
- Create a forum thread – 10 points
- Subscribe to a forum – 1 point
- Answer/comment on a forum post – 20 points
- Get upvoted for a comment – 1 point per upvote
- Share content from the Community - 5 points
- Refer a new member to the Community – 25 points
Climb up the leaderboard and get recognized for your expertise.
- Submit a recommended read – 30 points
- Create a feedback post (Product Documentation, Support portal, Community chat) - 30 points
- Volunteer/get verified to lead a local group – 200 points
- Volunteer/get verified as an expert – 100 points
Lead as an expert in your field and earn recognition and rewards.
- Moderate local group forum (Quarterly) - 100 points
- Participate in a Sophos Community group podcast (Coming Soon) - 100 points
- Host a Sophos Community Podcast (Coming Soon) - 150
Note:
- Users that game this system will be warned once, and if they do it again, they will be banned
- The points system is subject to change at any time without prior notice

Leaderboards and points accumulation are not updated in real-time, so if you believe you should have a higher total than what is currently showing, be patient, it will update by the next day. You can also see a breakdown of your points by going to your profile and then clicking on your points total.
We believe this feature will incentivize more users to participate, making our community a better support resource for our products.

Top Community Contributors awards are announced on a quarterly and annual basis and in the form of Community achievements, recognition blog posts, free hardware and software licenses, and gift cards to The Sophos Store.
Sophos Partner Program
In addition to earning similar rewards as mentioned above for Community users, Sophos Partners will also have access to the exclusive Sophos Partners Community group to connect and engage with Sophos Teams and other local Sophos Partners.
Member Achievement Awards
In addition to the Top Contributor rewards outlined above, there are also various Community achievements available for display as virtual trophies on your Community profile.
