Sophos recognizes the importance and value of user contributions on the Community. This section is designed to recognize and thank these individuals for their invaluable contributions that are key to the success of the Sophos Community.
How do Leaderboards work?
You can gain points by contributing to the Sophos Community in various ways:
- Create a forum thread - 1 point
- Create a comment on a blog - 1 point
- Suggest an idea for new content in our Product Documentation group – 1 point
- Raise a minor issue in our Product Documentation group – 1 point
- Reply to a forum thread - 5 points
- Create a feedback post on our Product Documentation group that leads to content being updated – 10 points
- Have your reply be verified as an answer - 15 points
- Create a feedback post on our Product Documentation group that leads to brand new content being published - 30 points
- Submitting a verified Community Recommended Read - 30 points
- Submit your content to the Product Documentation group for verification
- Fill out your Community profile (profile photo, cover photo, biography, occupation, and location) - 25 points
Note:
- Users that game this system will be warned once, and if they do it again, they will be banned
- Points system is subject to change at anytime without warning

Leaderboards and points accumulation are not updated in real-time, so if you believe you have a higher total than what is currently showing, be patient, it will update by the next day. You can also see a breakdown of your points by going to your profile and then clicking on your points total.
We believe this feature will incentivize more users to participate, which will drive more highlighted answers, which will in turn make our community a better support resource for our products.

Leaderboard Recognition & Rewards
There are 3 Top Contributor leaderboards on the Sophos Community based on user category:
Note: Starting in 2021 with the introduction of separate Community rewards for Sophos Partners, Community accounts will only be eligible for rewards from a single leaderboard (Community User or Partner)
Ex: If you are a designated Sophos Partner, your name will only be eligible to be displayed on the Sophos Partners leaderboard
Top Community Contributors awards are announced on a quarterly and annual basis and in the form of Community achievements, recognition blog posts, and gift cards to The Sophos Store
Sophos Community Users
Awards are broken down as follows.
Annual Awards
- At the Sophos Community sitewide level, there will be an annual award to each of the top 3 contributors:
- $200 Sophos Store gift card
- Top Contributor of the Year Achievement
- Sophos Community VIP badge displayed for the next calendar year
Note: Along with the recognition provided by this badge, users are also granted access to exclusive Sophos Community user-strategy events.
Quarterly Awards
- At the individual Community group level, there will be a quarterly award to the top contributor of each eligible Community product group:
Note: There is a minimum threshold of at least 100 points to be considered as the top contributor for the group level quarterly payout
- $25 Sophos Store gift card
- Top Contributor of the Quarter Achievement
Sophos Partners
The Sophos Community Partner Recognition program highlights the top Sophos Partners who contribute their valuable expertise to the Sophos Community.
In addition to earning similar rewards as mentioned above for Community users, Sophos Partners will also have access to the exclusive Sophos Partners Community group to connect and engage with Sophos Teams and other local Sophos Partners.
Member Achievement Awards
In addition to the Top Contributor rewards outlined above, there are also various Community achievements available for display as virtual trophies on your Community profile.
