No - only needed when doing Mesh, I have 15 AP 50 at work, broadcasting same SSID with Bridge to AP lan, and all is set to default :-)

The lack of information on this issue is frustrating.

Support have confirmed this is a known bug: Defect ID 34014

After changing the MTU to 1420, performance has gone from unusable to erratic.

Erratic is a huge improvement, thanks to the guys on the forum suggesting this.  We have a set of wifi networks that users are able to use again.  This will keep us going until the issue is fixed.

Again a little disappointing support haven't offered anything in terms of understanding the issue, possible workarounds, priorities or timescales for a fix.

Thanks to the community, the support team could learn something from you.

I already wrote it somewhere in the forum - setting MTU on wlanx interfaces to 1280 solves all issues and gives you good throughput and low latency. This is also the workaround Sophos supports uses today until this little annoyance got fixed from R&D.

Setting MTU higher will work for short time (few mins), after that throughput drops massively, only 1280 stays constant.

I wondering where this 1280 comes from. From a calculation point of view 1450 should be totally fine, thats also what our tests here show. 
Did anyone tested with 1450 and had the initial problem with it?

We've been seeing the same WiFi issues since upgrading to 9.305-4.  I have a case open with support and they claimed there were no known issues; we were the only ones experiencing wireless problems.  Came across this post, changed the MTU and throughput issues went away.  I sent the link to this post to support and now they are asking for log files.  Hopefully this gets resolved soon.  It looks like this problem began 2 months ago, I'm not sure why support is claiming they've never heard of it.  If they issue us a patch I will report back.

Yes, that is the version I'm on.

hrmm maybe that's why my newest client's sg210 hasn't upgraded beyond 9.210..[:)]
