AP 50: Root AP and regular AP at the same time?

Hi Folks, 

i never worked with the AP 50 so it might be a very stupid question:
I would like to cover a restaurant with a AP50. This AP 50 would also be used to be the root AP of a mesh network. 

Can I do both things (regular AP and Root AP) at the same time?
