Also, optionally (and I do not recommend this, but I've seen it done in similar situations, not with APs, but other electronics with lights that someone found offensive in some way)... you could open the casing and de-solder or cut the leads to the LED(s) in question... but that would DEFINITELY void the warranty, and I'm not saying in any way that this wouldn't cause other damage or issues. Attempt at your own risk.
Well from firmware-side I know it's possible because our first hardware prototypes had non-working LEDs and we had to code that first ;-). But I don't know if that'll be implemented as an option.
