SQL Server Reporting Services Behind WAF

Was curious if anyone has a working instance of SSRS 2008 behind the UTMs WAF working with Reverse Authentication.  LDAP backend.

If so what does your configuration for the Reverse Authentication piece look like and what did you have to tweek in your config files on your SSRS server.

I've been messing with this for months and only ever get passed to the web server with a 403 Forbidden.
I have a Custom template Form doing Basic Authentication and have messed around with tweaking the reportserver.config file
specifically AutheticationTypes as described in this article https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc281309.aspx

Just looking for someone that has this working that can share their setup.

Thanks,
 -Brian

  • I just managed to get this working. I had to add exceptions to the firewall profile

Under hardening and signing "Cookie signing" is selected

Under Filtering "Common Threats Filter" is selected and the following Skip Filter Rules were added:

    981203

    981001

    981176

    981204

    981200
