Ip Camera Https Reverse proxy?

I have 2 ip cameras at home and they don't support https.  I want to be able to view these cameras external but don't want my creds in plan text.  I was thinking about using the virtual server option.
I have set it up but just can't seem to get auth to to camera. 
Has anyone done this before with cameras?

    MJ, you can configure the Virtual Server for HTTPS and the Real Server for HTTP.  I would suggest using a port other than 443 for the Virtual Server - something like 1443.
