WAF with generic domain

Hi,

I with a freind try to build a little web hosting service, and we have made a choice to work with users as virtual host in apache in our real web serveur. That mean that we want the users to be able to get to their web site by users.webhost.com for example.

We create the vhost automaticly thru php on the web server, but I just tried to create a generic virtual web server with domaine *.webhost.com again as an example, but astaro juste refuse that domaine. We can't start creating each users in astaro as we want it to be all automatic. Is anybody have an idea how we could let pass all the unspecified subdomain directly to the server, and manage the others that we specified ?

    Sorry for the very very late answer. I was comming around to try again to set it up.

    Actually setting the user1.example.com manually in astaro is what we're trying to prevent. We like the protection of astaro, but we're looking to automate the vhost creation thru php scripting. Thus having to make them in astaro is not possible.

    It's also a pretty common practice around the net to have a fallback subdomain. *.example.com with the subdomain not being defined otherwise point to a defined web server. Let say the main page of the server.

    The only work around I could see is to hardcode them manually with the console in Astaro, but then the wildcard would need to be reput manually after each reboot. Which is still not a good thing.
