Block clients EVEN from web filtering exception lists?

OK this is something that is not obvious.

I would like to block some users/devices during certain time periods from even being able to access sites that are on the exception lists (such as windowsupdate etc).

It appears the exception lists get processed BEFORE all the other filtering profiles and options so they are allowed out to those sites that are in the exception rules no matter what I do.

I would like to be able to totally 100% turn off filtering for some devices during some time periods.

IS this possible?  Maybe a firewall rule or something instead of something at web filter level?

  • Hi Don,

If I understood that correctly then you want to block some users from accessing the websites which are defined in the exception policy. This is not possible as it totally contradicts the meaning of exception. The scheduling policy cannot be applied on exceptions.

    Thanks
