I have a client with Sophos UTM 9 deployed on a box and setup as the gateway and Firewall.
Now here is my issue.
Firstly there is no domain and no AD. The previous IT company did such a bad job that when you use the words domain around the client they end up with night terrors.
So recently a few employees have been abusing the internet to the point that the client has asked me to restrict web access except to a few people.
So I set it all up remotely on Friday night (beer and firewall configuring = fun!) and today I got a call.
So it seems that with the new rules applied outlook on the users PCs cannot connect to the hosted exchange.
When it came to restricting access I set the default web filtering policy to deny all, added in an allowed domain of *.ciphercloud.co.za (the provider) and then added in a second policy that designated the users that can access the web as well as their credentials. I set default authentication method to browser.
So what did I do wrong?
