Android twitter app and http proxy?

I have problem getting the android twitter app working via http/https proxy.
This is a snippet from the http proxy log

    My experience is that Android and the http/httpss proxy does not work painlessly. It often takes a long time to load web pages in (using Firefox for Android). And some apps, like Twitter and Facebook Messenger do not work.

    Is there a possibility that there are some compatibility problems with Android and the proxy?
