You Tube for Schools

I would like to share my experience trying to implementing YouTube for Schools in the hope that other users don't waste time on this or, by some miracle, someone has a solution.

1. I have been trying to sign up for YouTube for Schools since June 2014 and constantly get the following error/message: "We are aware of the issues with the YouTube for Schools product sign up flow. We realize this is a frustrating experience and thank you for your patience and understanding. Please stay tuned for an update in the coming weeks." In other words, the the ability for schools to register has not worked for a number of months which means that schools cannot get a YouTube for Schools ID to use on their Sophos UTMs.

2. I have "borrowed" a YouTube for Schools ID in order to test it. Here are the results of my testing:
An automatic redirection to the education site works on domain PCs and tablets using internet browsers. However, the YouTube app does not re-direct users to the education site/portal. So users are able to bypass this feature by using the app instead of the browser
