Got some odd behavior yesterday that just started after school resumed from Thanksgiving break. Faculty started reporting that they were getting blocked trying to get to Google (it has been working fine since I can remember). I used the policy test feature in the UTM and when I type in Google and any of the VLANs of the various internal networks, I get the result "allowed" with the category listed as "search engines". However, when tried in browsers on both physical and virtual machines out in our environment, users are met with the blocked page telling them that Google is blocked due to being uncategorized. I am running in transparent mode with no user authentication.
I rebooted the UTM this morning to see if that had any effect (it did not). I made a global exception for google for now - that is working.
In addition, a few sites that were not blocked before the break were being blocked now as uncategorized as well. However, in those cases, they showed as uncategorized in the UTM policy test (I made exceptions as usual and all was fine). Only google seems to report as allowed in the policy test yet blocked at the client end.
