First off - thank you for a wonderful product. I am currently using the latest version (with a home license) and I have to pinch myself every other day because this amazing product is free. [[:)]]
I have been able to iron out most issues I've found (all of which were created by yours truly) but this one is bugging me and I am unable to resolve it:
I have enabled transparent web filtering and it is working excellent except for an issue where some hosts show up with IP's instead of their fqdn's.
This is my setup:
- UTM is forwarding dns requests to my internal, ad integrated dns server
- My internal dns server does recursive look-ups and also reverse look-ups on internal ips - all seem to be working smoothly
What I have done:
- Created a dns host definition in UTM for one of the IP's showing up in the logs
- Added the IP and host to the hosts file of the UTM
- ping host name returns correct ip
- nslookup on host name retrieves the IP that shows up in the log
- nslookup on IP returns: server can't find ip.address.in-addr.arpa:NXDOMAIN
I obviously am missing something, but cannot figure out what. [[:)]]
Regards,
Thomas
