Alternative AD Authentication

Toying with the idea of modifying my authentication scheme used for Web browsing on my network. Currently I have LDAP setup for authentication to the user portal which is working flawlessly but I am looking for more.  [:)]

I came a across an open source AD replacement called Zenytal and was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this and setting it up as an AD auth mechanism for SSO.

    Does Zentyal use SAMBA 4? and if so has AD compatibility, or does it use OpenLDAP or other etc?

    Yes it uses Samba4 as an AD server. I was able to add my home UTM to the domain as well as a Windows 7 test VM without issues.
