Issues with Authentication

Our UTM is running in AD SSO mode.  When users first log on their system and access the internet they have no issues, internet works and they are shown in the logs as being assigned to the appropriate web filtering profile.

Sometimes, not always, they will get a box popping up from the UTM (address is displayed in the box) requiring them to authenticate.  No matter what they put in there it will not work, if you cancel it enough times it will eventually stop asking and they can browse again, but they are now using the default content filter.

Logging off and on the PC (not a restart) will also correct this.

Any suggestions as to where I should look?

  • Guys, in HTTP-S Proxy Access with AD-SSO, it's recommended to use an FQDN for the proxy address instead of a numeric IP in 'Proxy Settings' - do you have that so that the authentication takes place with Kerberos instead of NTLM?
