Urgent: Google Safe Search Not Enforcing

Dear All

Although having Google Safe Search activated in the web filter action our students are able to turn off safe search on their devices. It's not amusing to see all this adult stuff within the Google image search for example when looking for specific terms. You know what I mean.

I was surprisingly shocked when seeing that right now. Once I tested the filter options I couldn't turn off the restricted search (even on the HTTPS site Google is redirecting automatically nowadays).

Can't the UTM automatically add the URL string "&safe=active" to the user's request?
How do I solve this issue else?

    Please let me mention one more thing:

    If it is really going to be the way that we need to enable HTTPS scanning: 

    DO the users have to download the Proxy CA certificate to their machines (or do i have to deploy it in the network) OR can I just send it to a Global CA provider and every client recognizes that without any download?

    I just need to evaluate a simple way to run smoothly with HTTPS sites on our clients. If I have to pay therefore I have to pay. But we are not talking about buying a public certificate of course. It's about an entire CA, isn't it?

    We have solved the CA problem by pushing the cert out via Active Directory Group Policy.

    Hi Johnston,

    I am planning the same. The certificates are out for the domain computers (AD/GPO). But I actually need to deploy it among the students' BYOD devices. So I am working on a concept to have them download it and in about a week I am going to start using SSL scanning for their VLANs.

    Yes they will need to download it.

    One thing that I have heard of is if you are using the Browser auth (portal page) you can customize the login message, including adding a link to the certificate to make it easy for anyone to download.
