Scanning file downloads

Last week I finally took the plunge and updated my firewall from ASG 8.x to UTM 9.106
I used a backup file for the upgrade and all seemed to work fine, except now I have a bit of an issue with all downloaded files being scanned.

In Web Protection > Web Filtering > Antivirus/Malware, Use Antivirus Scanning is not selected.
Naturally, I tried selecting it, saving then deselecting and saving, but this had no positive effect.

Before anyone jumps on me about not scanning files off the internet, let me say that I do before opening or running them. 
What I do not like is the UTM file download page not opening in a new tab, rather, opening over the page that had the download link which prevents me from doing anything else on that page until the file download finishes (unless I open that page in another tab myself).

A simple question... how do I disable the virus scanning of file downloads?

    I cannot comment on William's experience and history with the product and what resources it realistically needs.  I agree with BigO that it seems odd that simple memory/horsepower would cause such a change in behavior.

    On the assumption for a moment that resources may make a difference you might want to experiment with turning off all other features (especially IPS and local categorization database) to see if it improves things.

    On the assumption that resources are not the problem, if you want to investigate further, can you give a couple of screenshots of relevant settings pages, give an exact URL of what you are downloading, and what you are seeing.

    Note: If there is a product issue, it will likely not be fixed until 9.2.

    In regards to logging:
    If you click Live Log it should do a popup and may take ~5 seconds to display the last couple of lines plus any new ones.  Effectively this is doing a tail -f on the file.
