Scanning file downloads

Last week I finally took the plunge and updated my firewall from ASG 8.x to UTM 9.106
I used a backup file for the upgrade and all seemed to work fine, except now I have a bit of an issue with all downloaded files being scanned.

In Web Protection > Web Filtering > Antivirus/Malware, Use Antivirus Scanning is not selected.
Naturally, I tried selecting it, saving then deselecting and saving, but this had no positive effect.

Before anyone jumps on me about not scanning files off the internet, let me say that I do before opening or running them. 
What I do not like is the UTM file download page not opening in a new tab, rather, opening over the page that had the download link which prevents me from doing anything else on that page until the file download finishes (unless I open that page in another tab myself).

A simple question... how do I disable the virus scanning of file downloads?

    To be honest William, I am not seeing that much difference in resource utilisation.

    The box I run the firewall on is no powerhouse by any means. It's an old P4 workstation machine with 1Gb of memory. It uses the onboard Gb NIC and 2 x 3COM Gb NICs - definitely nothing special.
    As stated, I have a home user licence, as that is what I am. I used to work in IT (3rd level support and development) and at that time more of the features were utilised, but now I just run the bare minimum to keep things inside my network safe. In a worst case scenario there might be four users, but normally these days it's just two. Nothing that should be the least bit taxing for an enterprise level firewall.
    I have attached an image showing the dashboard. 

    As with v8.x, I am using about 70% of the available memory.
    My experience so far with UTM 9.1 is that the webadmin interface is considerably faster than it was in ASG 8.x, which is nice.

    Sometime in the near future I will be updating the box, but doubt I will go with more than 2Gb of memory. In the past I have simply sourced a second hand, ex lease, corporate level workstation and used that as my firewall. That has worked well for me since starting with Astaro v3 way back, so I see no reason to change this approach.

    I am at a bit of a loss understanding why you believe that the spec of my firewall machine is the source of these issues.
    Maybe you can explain your rationale.

    I agree... setting the scan size to 1Mb is an option.
    I did try to set it to zero, but the UTM had an issue with that.
