Firefox and Proxy Autodetect

Hi everyone,

I need some advice for the config of my Proxy Autodetection script!

As I have figured out with Wireshark IE and Chrome get their wpad configuration from DHCP Option 252 and if that fails from WPAD DNS/NetBios Name resolution.

Firefox on the other side seems only be capable of using DNS query and needs to download the wpad.dat from port 80.

UTM 9 seems to provide only the DHCP Option and publishes the wpad.dat file only on Port 8080.
Is there any way or best practice to get Firefox working with the Autodetection script without using a separate webserver?

What are your experiences for the support of mobile browsers?

thx, Chris
