URL Filtering: Additional URLs/sites to block

I'm having trouble figuring out how to use this new method of allowing or blocking websites found on Web Filtering > URL Filtering > Additional URLs/sites to block.

In order to test whether I had it working correctly, I decided to try to block a site I really like. According to the documentation "you have to enter the entire domain name, including e.g. www."

So here is how I tried to block the site:
1. Clicked the + to Add a new rule.
2. Named the profile, and typed in (without quotes) "www.example.com"
3. Clicked Save
4. Clicked Apply

I then went to browse to that website and lo and behold - no blocking occurred. So I thought, perhaps I'm misreading something. So I then changed the rule to list "www.example.com" instead of just "www.example.com" and it still refused to block.

What am I doing wrong? This used to work before they added the regex patterns and now I can't figure out why it doesn't work. Tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything so I decided to post.

Can anyone help me with this?

    Since my last post, I tried opening the Web Filter Live Log and noticed that it doesn't seem to be posting activity when I browse websites anymore. It used to give me all kinds of activity but now nothing at all - zilch - except for the following:

    2013:08:31-19:29:38 sqlguy httpproxy[5246]: id="0003" severity="info" sys="SecureWeb" sub="http" request="(nil)" function="sc_check_servers" file="scr_scanner.c" line="767" message="server 'cffs26.astaro.com' access time: 439ms"

    I'm almost wondering if whatever is causing the web filter live log to not display traffic is the root cause of why the extra blocks/unblocks don't work. 

    Any thoughts?
