HTTP Proxy and Laptops

Hi All,

T- 15 days until the install of 2 Sophos UTMs for the client...

One thing I'm ultra stuck on:

How do you handle HTTP Proxy settings for laptops? I mean, if you set a GPO so that the computer uses the UTM as a proxy, thats great, WHILE they are in the office... but what about when they go out of the office, how are you guys handling this?

    Cheers, I take it its one those things that 'just works' nicely when implemented? like DHCP, and doesn't require much admin

    Hi All,

    So, for those who use this method, I have nothiced there are 2 ways of doing the Auto Proxy:

    *DHCP Method, and
    *DNS Method

    To be honest I was most tempted by the DHCP method, looked simpler to configure / maintaine, fact that mainly only IE works with this is not a problem, as people can use IE in the office

    Does anyone use the auto proxy, whats your thoughts, and any DHCP vs. DNS arguments?
