Page can not be displayed if proxy is not active in IE

Hello,

i´m using sophos utm 220 with latest Software.
Webfilter is set to transparent mode and Internet is working on the Clients without entering a Proxy Server in IE. Only one Website is making Trouble... when trying to Access unternehmen.secure.datev.de via IE it Shows "page can not be displayed"... site only opens when enabling Proxy in IE Settings or using direct Internet via nat without web protection.

I dont unterstand whats the Problem... any hints?

    Post the relevant log lines from the Web Filter log.

    This is also strange - there is nothing in the live log... no entrys.

    Basic question: do i normally have to enter the Proxy ip-address and port on Client side when using transparent mode in the utm? If it is needed i do not understand why Internet works without Proxy Setting in IE. There is nothing allowed directly through Firewall rules...

    Transparent means: no separate configuration on the client side, so No, you don't have to enter a proxy in the IE settings.

    Do you have "Scan SSL (HTTPS) Traffic" enabled?
    Do you have any entries in Web Filter -> Advanced -> Skip transparend destination / source hosts?

    I understand it this way to - but in our case the page displays only if i enter Proxy Settings (IP and port) in the Clients Internet Explorer. Without it the page does not Display.

    SSL-Scanning is enabled and Proxy ca cert is installed on the Client. Other ssl sites are working without any ssl Errors or Problems.

    There are no entrys for skipping any source or Destination Hosts from filtering.

    I made the experience that some sites have problems with transparent ssl scanning. Is the page mentioned http or https?
    You might try to put the DNS host "unternehmen.secure.datev.de" to the transparent destination skip hosts and create an appropriate firewall rule allowing http(s) traffic to it.

    Anyway, with your current setup there should be a corresponding entry in the Web Filter log when you try to access the page.
