Transparent Web Proxy and Playstation 3 Updating

I made a report to Sony in their forum; they didn't respond however:

I was the only one who replied, however, I encountered this strange bug when downloading updates for the Playstation 3.  I made two videos.  The first one showed the end of the issue:

I disabled the Transparent Proxy and the system applied the updates.

I'm using firmware version 9.100-8 of Sophos UTM 9.  The downloads will run past 100 percent for some reason.

    After a ton of troubleshooting here, I disabled the antivirus scanner and the downloads were completing and applying.  If this is turned on, the scanner would (I believe) corrupt the download (Sophos tries to play man in the middle with files).

    Somehow, it's causing corrupt downloads in the playstation 3.  I could just make the host exempt, but I think I will stick to whitelisting for now.

    I'm not sure what you meant by your final sentence above.  You could post a relevant line from the Web Filtering log to confirm, but I would guess that you will see statuscode="502" in those lines.  Occasionally, this is solved by creating an Exception for Anti-Virus for the trusted download site.  If that doesn't work, the only recourse is to skip the proxy for the site.

    PS Folks here are hesitant to click on links to sites they don't know and trust.  The ones to youtu.be (NOT! youtube.com) may well be fine, but I don't know that site, and so won't tempt fate by assuming that your files could not have been altered by someone inserting malware.
    PPS Apparently, youtu.be also is owned by Google, and is a part of its YouTube property.

    That's fine.  I'll reach into the logs and pull some data from there.  Those videos are mine, so there is no malware attached.  It's just to show what's happening; something that I cannot pull from Sophos UTM.

    The strange thing is when I use the Antivirus scanner (Sophos AV), the corrupt PS3 downloads occur.  This does not happen on PC's or the MAC OS.
