Filtering of bad words

Hello

Having younger kids I would like to filter bad words in addition to URL's. is it somehow possible to for example enter somewhere the f**** word, so that all pages are blocked containing that word as well as a google search for that word returns nothing.

    You can select 'Safe Search' for Google, Bing and Yahoo on the 'URL Filtering' tab.  You also can do Youtube limitations, but that requires signing up on Youtube and managing the list there of allowed videos for your "students."  I think the only way to prevent them from being exposed to bad language is to use private tutors and home school them. [:D]

    Depending on how much time you want to spend fine-tuning it, you could start with "Block" as the default action and then build your own, custom list of categories you want to allow.  You also can add any, specific sites that also should be allowed.  If you want to see what those are, you can look in the Web Filtering log or go to Reporting, and, in the Web Filtering section, click on the green "+" to a filter for "Action" "Blocked."

    For example to allow everything on funbrain.com, use ^https://[a-zA-Z0-9.-]*funbrain\.com

    PS In his 70's, my father would tell me stories about our family.  Apparently, when I was five, I came inside for dinner and told my mother about a game I'd been playing with some of the neighborhood kids.  I used a very colorful word, and my mother, with her strict, Protestant upbringing, stood bolt upright.  She quickly recovered her calm however, and, recognizing a "teachable moment" (I don't think that concept existed then, though), she knelt down so she could look me straight in the face, and, afterhaving gotten me to say the word again, said, "Bobby, that's a word that nice people don't use."  I haven't used that one since!

    Thanks for your answer. I have the safe search and the web filtering in place. I was just wondering if there was a possibility to filter for specific words.
