UTM 9 is blocking me from upgrading my Qnap Storage system

I have a Qnap storage system which has the ability to download the latest firmware. On this unit i configured a static ip address with the LAN IP of the UTM9 as default gateway address.

I have this issue a long time now and discovered when i change the default-gateway to a router the upgrade works fine , but as i wanted to have the unit behind the UTM-9 as the NAS is also hosting some websites and a mailserver which are accessible from the internet.

I dont see any ports being blocked when looking in the firewall log.
In the WebFiltering log file i see that the system is trying to fetch the upgrade file 3 times in a row and then i get the failure message on the web portal of my NAS.
