New to the forums and to Sophos UTM. Played around with Astaro around version 7 or so but not much since. I understand most of the other concepts except for the Web filtering profiles.
I am having issues grasping the filter assignments and proxy profiles. I have been searching the forums to find how I would solve my problem but no complete answers as most are based on users/groups. Sorry if this seems simple.
Here is what I am trying to accomplish:
I have several devices that I do not need to have time based restrictions on so I don’t think I need to do anything with them.
I have 4 devices that I would like to have internet access Sun-Thurs 8:30AM-10:30PM and on Fri-Sat 8:30AM-1:00AM and block everything outside of those times.
1. I have created the network definitions and network group for the devices called BlockGroup.
2. I have created the Sun-Thurs time definition but I think I need to create 2 more for the Fri-Sat cause it won't allow an 8:30-1AM? That is my first confusion. Help?
3. Next I create the filter assignment for the Sun-Thurs and then create a proxy profile with the BlockGroup as the source and assign the filter assignment and set fallback action to "default content filter block action"
I did this based on what I found in the forums so I think that would handle the Sun-Thurs traffic but how would I go about getting the weekend rules in there? Would I just create another filter assignment the same way with the other time def(s)and another proxy profile? It just seems like they would block each other?
Is there a better way I could do this?
