(Using AD SSO for web filtering proxy)
Is there a way to have the web proxy work for local addresses/ip's? Right now unless we put local address IP's in the web browser proxy settings under " additional ip's to bypass " when visiting a local IP the ASG proxy just constantly pops up for authentication.
Once the local address is added it works fine (obviously because the proxy isn't being used for it). Why can't the proxy authenticate when it's a local address (no odd ports, just http (80)).
Using the "bypass proxy server for local addresses" only works for what the proxy considers "local addresses" IE an address of 127.0.0.1 isn't considered local although in this case it is.
Some programs that I have found do use local addresses like this when starting programs (such as smart notebook - that one is the 127.0.0.1). In that case when you launched the program you would be prompted for authentication even though no web browser is open due to it browsing to this 127 address behind the scenes for startup info.
Is there any way around this as it becomes a pain to try to figure out what "local address" each program is using and we're finding them more and more, the only way to get past it being spend a decent amount of time trying to find the "local address" the program is using and add it to the additional addresses to bypass.
