iCloud Document Syncing Doesn't Work with Transparent Mode

Hi.  

I learned today that iCloud document syncing (e.g., with Pages) doesn't work on my Mac unless I have the IP address of my Mac in the Skip Transparent Mode Hosts / Nets list (i.e., Web Filtering > Advanced > Transparent Mode Skiplist).

However, I don't want to skip the transparent mode for my Mac.

I looked in the Web Filter logs the only thing anomalous that appears when my Mac is not on the skip list and when I open Pages to initiate the document sync are the following:

I see something there that looks like it could be the issue - the broken pipe - but I don't know what might be causing that.  I also have no idea why iCloud would be going to a Microsoft domain (windows.net).

Does anyone have any thoughts on a potential solution?

    Ok.  I think that I found the solution to this.  Over on the RealMac software support site, I found this article:

    Realmac Software : Clear + iCloud Troubleshooting

    Towards the bottom is this note:

    Allow outgoing connections to port 443 (https) to any blob.core.windows.net address.

    So, I was on the right track after all.  Next, I added windows.net to the transparent skip list for destination sites.  And, now, iCloud document syncing is working as expected.

    Here's to crossing your fingers to make sure that this does it!
