Latency / Speed issues?

Hi, we have an Astaro 220 , running UTM 9 (though this has been an issue since v8 and since it was initially brought online several months ago).

The speed / latency are fine for non-http protocols, but for anything http, or going through the proxy/web protection, the speed is not reliable, and the latency is very very slow.

For example, if I run a speed test through a site such as ‘speedtest.net’, our 50mb fiber line will rate as 10 megs or less most times.    Very consistently the latency will read as 350 or higher!      

If I turn off the web protection, that fixes the issue.    With it off, I get a latency reliably of 35ms or less.     Speed of 40mb+.     

I have tried turning off various settings in the config for the web protection, but none of them seem to help.   

Do you have any suggestions on how to debug this issue?      I am comfortable with SSH if that helps.

    Understood.  The point is that such tests are simplistic, that they measure something other than what users actually experience, and that was the reason for the suggested experiment.

    PS Some of the files in the V8 Up2Date directory are probably a good size to make this experiment.
