[9.002012]HTTP Proxy does bypass

I have the http proxy setup for transparent mode.
I have a list of wow sites in both exceptions and bypass.
I have IE setup to use the proxy and prior to tonight it was setup for automatic discovery.

All the game traffic is going through the proxy according to the proxy log and none goes through the firewall. The sites in the proxy log are the same as those in the proxy bypass.
The dashboard shows twice as much being downloaded as being sent to the PC.

I am at a loss with this stupid game - wow. As far as the downloads went the user was just too impatient and misled by an error message from the game.

    Dilandau, great catch on noticing that that Ian's browser setting effectively forces the HTTP Proxy into "Standard" mode!

    What he's saying, Ian, is that the "Transparent" selection in WebAdmin is overridden by your configuration in your PC because your PC's 'Proxy Settings' are configured to use the Proxy.  The automatic discovery selection there is ineffective, so, until you selected 'Use a proxy server...', your browser had no idea there was a proxy, all of your HTTP accesses were handled by the transparent proxy and all of your other accesses (HTTPS, FTP, etc.) were handled by a Firewall rule.

    I think Ian already knows, but just an additional note to other readers: the 'Skip transparent mode ...' lists are not considered when the Proxy is working in "Standard" mode and the 'Allowed target services' are not handled when the Proxy is working in "Transparent" mode.

    I am very confused, because in another thread concerning WOW the suggestion  was made to put the proxy details into IE.

    I wasn't aware that "allowed target services" are not handled when the proxy is in transparent mode. But being a sucker, I tried by removing all the allowed services and it broke my http proxy access. To access this website I have had to restore the allowed services.
