Setting exceptions

Hi I must be missing something or over looked the obvious somewhere. I have inherited a configured Astaro free for education firewall and have gotten stuck and am hoping someone can shed some light on my errors.

First one is to confirm I am correct, Astaro was setup to block youtube under application control I am presuming there is no way to allow specific youtube videos in this configuration. I will need to block the site and then make exceptions for each I want to permit.

Secondly I thought (from reading the manual and searching the forum) under web filtering I could go to url filtering tab and enter the url to permit under always allow these url/sites. This doesn't work but I in fact have to go to the web filtering profiles and make changes in there to permit sites? What have I missed.
I am running V8.301 and it is virtualised on VMWARE esxi server and I believe the person that installed it used the vm template and have since read that using the iso is better but have been hesitent to blow it away and sart again.

    Hi, Robert, and welcome to the User BB!

    Some basics that are documented, but not clearly enough: In the 'Web Filtering' section, the first three tabs, 'Global', 'Antivirus/Malware' and 'URL Filtering' define the "Default filter action."  The last four tabs apply to all Filter Actions.

    I've moved this thread to the Web Security forum since the Essential Firewall doesn't have  that capability.  Also, the accepted practice here is to create a separate thread for a separate topic, so you might want to move that portion of your post to a new thread in the "Hardware, Installation, ..." forum where someone with that knowledge is more likely to see it.
