Slow web response w/ some timeouts

I'm seeing some remarkably slow web response with only one user [me].
ASG system is a VM with 

[LIST=1]
  • 4 processors [very limited other uses on hypervisor]
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 0% Swap usage
  • Minimal disk usage

Processor utilization is showing 4-10% utilization which is quite high from normal standards.


Looking down in the process utilization tools I see the following:  [complete listing below] Strike that... this system won't accept that much data in a post.


There are a set of defunct processes still taking up the processors time.
Is this acceptable or is something going on here that shouldn't.

    I have to bend to the GF on this one.  what is your dns setup inside of your astaro and of the host machine?

    DNS setup for Astaro is to allow DNS services on all local interfaces.
    Forwarders:  accept forwarders from DHCP (Comcast in this case)
    Host Machine:  Not sure what machine you mean.
                              The DNS settings on the machine showing very slow and erratic web services is...
                              Manual IP and DNS is set to Astaro gateway ip.

    ok if the static machine is being slow set it to dhcp(unless it is a server) and try again.  Is this localized to one machine?  do you have anti-anything running on it?

    Ok, this seems to be making changes just for the sake of making changes.
    Adding the DHCP layer to the network stack won't clear anything up unless there is something severely wrong.
    If we were removing it, that would make sense.
    Further, this would suggest that statically assigned servers are at risk.

    nopers..not adding layers troubleshooting base don information given.  if only the static machine is having issues put it on dynamic..or turn off it's firewall/security software..or both.  If that doesn't fix it then you have a hardware problem between the Astaro and the client(the client itself could be having issues).

    since right now it appears to be one machine and not network wide the issue most likely isn't the astaro.  Astaro isn't usually the cause of issues unless it's misconfigured and then that tends to be network-wide...unless you have something borked inside of Astaro where it doesn't like that one machine(unlikely from what I've seen).  However there's only so much we can do on the forums as well..[:)]
